Misfit teen Dorothy has never belonged - not at her conservative rural American school where time seems frozen in the 1950s, and certainly not in her own skin. When a freak storm transports her to the Land of Oz, she discovers the actions of her great-grandmother (the original Dorothy) have set in motion a terrifying war. Oz seeks to rule all the lands as a dark usurper, and the once allied kingdoms of Scarecrow, the Lion and Tinman have become locked in a vicious cycle of deceit and destruction.

Dorothy's arrival forces an unwelcome reunion between the warring kingdoms - one that might be their only hope of overthrowing tyrant Oz and restoring harmony to the once united lands.
