Josh is neurodiverse 14 year old raised in a good military family home. He’s moved schools more times than he can count. He’s lonely, naive, always the new kid desperate to belong. When a group of older teenagers take him in he says yes to things he doesn’t fully understand. The grooming is subtle. Orders arrive in disappearing Snapchat messages. Social media rewards him with validation and punishes him with threats of violence. The line is crossed before he knows it and he’s taken from the school yard to a cuckooed family where the situation spirals out of control.
